President Message

Dear Members,

Welcoming the honourable members of BCCI and the business community, I wish to express my cordial gratitude and compliments for reposing confidence in electing me unopposed for the responsibility of President of this Chamber. It is an evident fact that the business community/ private sector plays a crucial role for the socio-economic development of the country. Nevertheless, private sector being steadfast to give momentum to the trading and industrial activities of the country, its achievement and efforts still need due recognition. Our national economy owing to persistent unprecedented challenges is wounded with internal and external threats vis-à-vis frontline state in the war against terror, devastating floods, energy crisis, foreign debts, flight of capital, depleting foreign exchange reserves, exorbitant charges of utilities, enhanced interest rates. To surmount all the odds and evils, our country is in dire need to adopt pragmatic policies on war-footing to expand the industrial base and quality production in order to generate much needed surplus production for exports along side chalking out the proactive strategies to create an enabling and investment friendly environment. To outshine in this avenue, it is unavoidable to explore the untapped markets of Africa and North America for traditional and non-traditional products. I believe that it is imperative time when the government must realize and swap its role from regulator to facilitator and leave no stone unturned to speed up industrialization, mobilizing the local and foreign investors, abridge the trade deficit and broaden the tax-to-GDP ratio. To cope with iron hands, the obstacles acting as impediments distressing the trading circles and slowing down the wheels of industries, I assure that along with my dedicated team, we will excel and go extra mile beyond to triumph over as we are aware of the prevailing difficult economic environment afflicting to our country and possess professional acumen to encounter successfully. To facilitate BCCI’s members, the Office Bearers and the Chairmen of 14 Sub-Committee of BCCI are always committed to serve, please feel at liberty to contact us. We are also adapting modern practices to provide services of par excellence implementing computer automated operations and services being rendered by highly professional and dedicated staff. With high team spirit, I assure that this Chambers stands ready for public services without any discrimination at all. CHAUDHRY MUHAMMAD ALI PRESIDENT
